India will need KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya for the World Cup: S Sreesanth

Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are at the receiving end at the moment for their comments on Koffee with Karan. They have been suspended by the BCCI as well pending inquiry and if Diana Edulji‘s comments are to be believed, then the do’s World Cup is also under the threat. April 23 is the deadline for the teams to submit their squads for the mega event. However, S Sreesanth feels that both the cricketers are match-winners and India will need their services at the World Cup.

Sreesanth admits that their misogynist comments weren’t in great spirit by any means and chided them over the same. But he felt that the cricketers will be important for the Men in Blue as they are exceptional with their skills and also related the pain for not being able to play for India.

“I will only say that whatever happened was very bad, but the World Cup is around the corner. Both Hardik and Rahul are both good cricketers. I will only say to Hardik and Rahul, that surely they are both match-winners and sooner or later they will be back on the field. Yes, I know how difficult it is for a cricketer to miss the game and I just hope BCCI allows them to play, once they realise I am sure they should be playing where they should be playing,” Sreesanth was quoted as saying by India TV.

Others have gotten away

S Sreesanth stressed the fact that the people have got away with previously and the same are pouncing on KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya now. “Yes, what happened was wrong. They said some wrong things. But there are others whose have made bigger mistakes than these, who are still playing and are in different fields not just cricket. The same people are speaking about this. When they see an opportunity they pounce on it like tigers,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth also hoped that the ban on him playing first-class cricket will be lifted soon and felt that he will return to the game soon.
