3. An extra middle-order batsman in place of KL Rahul

A moving ball has been the biggest chink in KL Rahul’s armour. In his nightmarish tour to England last year, Rahul did not have a single 50+ score except 149 in his final innings. Despite being a technically sound player, his woes against swinging deliveries have not been over yet.

A player like Ambati Rayudu could certainly have made a difference in such conditions. Apart from providing a much-needed strength to the Indian middle-order, his experience and ability to build an innings could have played a vital role.

Imagine if India suffer the same situation as they did against Pakistan in CT final in 2017 (where they had lost their 3 pillars for just 15 runs), then the need of the hour would be an innings builder, and Rayadu would have been the best man to do so.
