'Indian cricket hasn't received money it deserves,' says BCCI President Sourav Ganguly

Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly filed his nomination for the supreme post in Indian cricket on Monday at BCCI headquarters. In his proposal, he stressed on some important areas which will be targeted at his helm. These important facts were taken into the account and Dada is nominated for the Presidential post.

He has been an active President of the Cricket Association of Bengal. But, he will be stepping down from the local cricket body post in order to accept the BCCI proposal. Ganguly is one of the best left-handed batsmen that India had ever produced in its cricketing history.

The former left-handed batsman, smashed 11,363 One-day International runs and 7,212 Test runs to his name while playing for Team India. Sourav took the captaincy back in 2000 for Team India. Since then, he holds the record for scoring most runs and most centuries as an Indian left-handed batsman.

After he got the news, Ganguly focused on working hard to bring BCCI reputation back on track. The former player feels that his agenda will be to concentrate on the revenue generation because ICC has not given funds that BCCI deserves in the last three or four years, “We haven’t received any money from ICC in the last few years. Money in the sense what we deserve. India generates 70-80 per cent of its revenue. So that’s going on to the agenda. Talks and discussions need to happen and we have to find a solution to this as this is not leading anywhere,” Ganguly said as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Earlier, it was reported that there is a big amount of $570 million which is to be distributed amongst the Big three nations. And England and Australia will partner India in it. But as per the current situation, the amount BCCI will receive after coming into action will be $293m for the next eight years, followed by ECB $143m, Zimbabwe Cricket $94m and the remaining seven Members $132m.

It still needs to be reported that when Ganguly is going to take the charge.
