Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan to play police officer's role alongside Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram

Irfan Pathan is set to make his Kollywood debut in the near future. He will star alongside the Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram which will be the latter’s 58th movie of his career. The film’s director is Ajay Gnanamuthu who was at the helm of two blockbuster movies so far. He directed Demonte Colony (2015) and Immaika Nodigal (2018) and now has signed Vikram for his third film.

The name of the movie is yet to be announced. Though Ajay, in May, revealed its poster which depicted Vikram’s different looks. It is being speculated that the star actor will sport 25 different looks and if the reports turn out to be true, Vikram will create a world record for playing the most number of characters in a movie in the history of cinema.

Irfan Pathan to play a cop’s role in the movie

Irfan Pathan will don Turkey police officer’s role in the movie and is extremely excited about this project. He also revealed that the filmmakers were confident that the said role will perfectly suit him, “Looking forward to this project. When they came to me, I asked why me? But they were 100 percent sure the role is for me,” Irfan said while speaking to CricTracker. Irfan Pathan is currently busy commentating in the ongoing India-South Africa Test series.

He also played for Jammu and Kashmir last year in Ranji Trophy and also took the mentor’s role for them. He spotted new and exciting talent during his stint while also guided the young players.

As far as Vikram is concerned, he is a superstar in the Tamil film industry and last featured in the movie named ‘Kadaram Kondan’ which released earlier this year. His upcoming project is expected to hit the theatres in April 2020 and Priya Bhavani Shankar has been signed as the heroine for the movie. AR Rahman is the music director while Lalit the producer of the film.

Vikram has also worked previously with the Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan back in 2010 in the movie Ravanan which was released in Hindi too. His upcoming film is one of the much-awaited movies as the director Ajay is known to give blockbusters.
