The Indian team visited Ashok Vatika, a garden in Sita Eliya in the former kingdom of Ravana as mentioned in the Vishnu Purana and Hindu epic, Ramayana, ahead of the third and final Test against Sri Lanka, starting tomorrow. Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav posted pictures on the social media.

“Indian Team arrived Ashok Vatika is the place where Ravana kept the Sita captive. Ashok Vatika is a garden that is present in the Sita Eliya in Sri Lanka,” Shami posted on Twitter.

Umesh also posted a picture with his wife on Instagram and captioned it ” foot mark of Lord Hanuman ji”.

Apart from the duo, KL Rahul, Wriddhiman Saha and Ishant Sharma were seen along with their respective families.  It is believed to be the place where Sita was kept as captive.

Indian captain Virat Kohli, coach Ravi Shastri and some of the other members were not to be seen in the pictures. The unit of fast bowlers looked very relaxed, having already won the series 2-0. India will look to push for a white wash and win the third Test in a comfortable manner to extend their good run. This was India’s eighth successive Test series win.

India won the first Test by a massive margin of 304 runs and went on to beat Sri Lanka in the second Test by an innings and 53 runs. Ravindra Jadeja produced a match-winning performance, where he picked up seven wickets and scored 70 runs with the bat.

The selectors will name the squad for the ODI series on Sunday, and if reports are to be believed then skipper Virat Kohli might be given a well-deserved break. The spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Jadeja might be rested too considering their workload over the last two games and overall season. Both the spinners bowled more than 210 overs between them in the ongoing Test series.
