The date 2nd November marks the birthday of Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, who turns 52 today. The amount of fame and popularity generated by the Superstar over the years needs no introduction.
SRK’s journey from being a struggling artist of the theatres to transpire into the television and from there on ruling the celluloid is and forever will be an inspiration to many. The stalwart of Indian cinema is renowned for his hard work, commitment and longevity which is second to none.
Since the start of his acting career during the 80s, King Khan has given us numerous blockbusters such as Darr, Baazigar, Anjaam where he played villainous roles. His versatility was proven in romantic roles in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Mohabbatein.
SRK’s role always had an element of slapstick humour prevalent in dramas such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Baadshah, Duplicate, Yes Boss, Kal Ho Naa Ho etc. The Baadshah of B’Town also ventured into challenging roles in movies such as My Name is Khan, Fan, Devdas and Swades where he played characters suffering from alcoholism, Asperger syndrome and an obsessive admirer.
Cricket has always been special to Shah Rukh Khan. During the finals of the famous T20 World Cup at South Africa, SRK flew into Jo’burg to witness the Indian team lift the coveted trophy. The image of Shah Rukh khan supporting the Indian team or his Knight Riders from the balcony is a common sight in contemporary cricket.
King Khan, through his production house Red Chillies Entertainment, is now a part of three different franchise in three countries while establishing the Knight Riders (Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL, Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL and Cape Town Knight Riders in T20 Global League).
As a result, Shah Rukh has founded a bridge between two of the most sought-after fields in India by the names of Bollywood and Cricket. Therefore, cricketers from all around wished the evergreen actor on his special day on Twitter.
Here are some of the wishes:
