Indian players who performed well in IPL: Almost everything that happens in the life of a cricket aficionado in the months of April and May revolves around IPL, life of a fervent fan completely changes for the good in this cricket frenzy season as matches come thick and fast and there is hardly any day when there isn’t a game in this span of one and a half month. Besides the glamour which IPL provides, also act as a breeding ground for Indian player. Every year we see some Indian players performing sensationally to captivate the attention of the selectors. Here are the 11 Indian players who performed well in IPL. 1. Ashish Nehra: Ashish Nehra CSK. (Photo Source: BCCI) After a couple of off seasons Ashish Nehra looked a completely different bowler this season picking up wickets with new ball and in the death overs as well along with maintaining a descent economy. Nehra took 22 wickets in IPL 2015 with 4/10 against RCB being his best bowling figures. 2. Rohit Sharma: Rohit Sharma MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) Rohit started the season for Mumbai by a breathtaking 98* in the first innings and after that following a call from the team he moved in the middle order. Rohit’s form dipped a bit towards the middle of the season; but when it mattered the most he delivered scoring a match winning half century in the finals. The MI skipper made 482 runs in the season at a strike rate of 144. 3. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar: Bhuvneshwar Kumar SRH. (Photo Source: BCCI) His team SRH did not impress its fans as they failed to reach the playoffs but Bhuvaneshwar Kumar certainly impressed one and all. He took 18 wickets in 14 matches and was particularly good in the death overs with his Yorkers. Though Bhuvi is a tad slower than most of the bowlers, he has perfected him lengths enough to come good against all odds. 4. Virat Kohli: Virat Kohli RCB. Opening the batting for RCB along side Chris Gayle he was consistent throughout the season and made 505 runs in the season. 5. Ajinkya Rahane: Ajinkya Rahane RR. (Photo Source: BCCI) The ever consistent Ajinkya Rahane had yet another terrific season of IPL, in the most part of the season he was ahead in the race of orange cap but in the end lost to David Warner. Rahane made 540 runs in the season and clearly led the charge for the Rajasthan Royals. 6. Hardik Pandya: Hardik Pandya MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) Totally an unknown commodity Hardik Pandya grabbed the attention of one and all by his winning knock against CSK and he replicated his form against the KKR too. In a country where there is a scarcity of all rounders Pandya should definitely be looked as an India prospect. 7. Yuzvendra Chahal: Yuzvendra Chahal RCB. (Photo Source: BCCI) The leg spinner from Haryana was a vital reason why RCB performed so well in this season, Chahal took 23 wickets in the 16 games that he played this season. Though leg-spinners are gifted to be tough to negotiate, Yuzvendra Chahal, used his variations and a disguised googly fetched him most of his victims. 8. Mandeep Singh: Mandeep Singh RCB. (Photo Source: BCCI) Mandeep Singh might not have scored tons of runs but he played two match winning knocks, for the RCB with which he has successfully displayed his shot-making skills and the ability to consume pressure as he came good at tougher times. Especially in the knock against the Royals Mandeep displayed pure class. 9. Harbhajan Singh: Harbhajan Singh MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) This was probably the best season of IPL for the off Spinner, Harbhajan picked up wickets at crucial junctures in the match and even smashed a fifty off 19 balls, which was the joint fastest fifty of the 2015 season. On the back of his performance in the IPL Bhajji has been able to get his name back on the selection paper and is now a part of the Indian test squad for the tour of Bangladesh. 10. Harshal Patel: Harshal Patel RCB. (Photo Source: BCCI) He does not possess the pace of Varun Aaron but clever variation in pace and bowling at right line length meant he took the position of Varun Aaron in the RCB team. Though Harshal looked out of place to start with, did not know the exact length and zone to bowl at, gradually proved to be a really good partner to Australian pacer Mitchell Starc who led the RCB pace attack. 11. J Suchith: Jagadeesha Suchith MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) Whenever Captain Rohit Sharma turned to Suchith, he delivered. His performance weren’t mind blowing but he was effective with his left arm spin. MI picked him ahead of the experienced Pragyan Ojha and the youngster did not disappoint them and in the end was a part of the IPL winning squad.
