Indian Squad Rating- The Player Performance Analysis In The Bangladesh Series: The 3-match ODI series has been a rather displeasing one for the Men in Blue, losing first two of their three matches. They somehow, escaped a humiliating whitewash by winning the final game of the series with a healthy margin. Considering things as a whole, Indian players have underperformed themselves in this series to a significant extent. A lot better and responsible show was expected from them. In order to establish the performances of the players as numbers, we at CricTracker chose to Rate the players by virtue of their performances in the series. Indian Squad Rating: Shikhar Dhawan, 8.5/10: Shikhar Dhawan. (Photo Source: AFP) The leading run scorer of the series with 158 runs in 3 matches performed decently well and gave India the desired starts. He was involved in a 95 run opening stand in the first ODI and he played a blistering knock of 75 runs off 73 deliveries in the third ODI. However, he did not manage to play big in the second ODI which made him lose 1.5 points. All in all Dhawan managed to continue to run flowing form he has had throughout the year. Rohit Sharma, 5/10: Rohit Sharma. (Photo Source: AFP) Rohit managed to score a total of 92 runs in this series and apart from his sensible knock in the first ODI, Rohit looked out of touch mostly and was dismissed playing a lose shot in the third ODI. He was dismissed by Mustafizur in each of the three matches. Since he could not help the teams cause in 2 out of the three games, all he manages is 5 points. Virat Kohli, 4/10: Virat Kohli. (Photo Source: AFP) Kohli did not manage to fire in this series. In fact, he all he got is 49 runs in 3 matches. Coming in to bat at number 3, he never managed to pull off a responsible show and was dismissed by going after wide deliveries on the off side. A technical weakness or the lack of confidence, it has surely made it clear, Virat Kohli is vulnerable as well. MS Dhoni, 6/10: MS Dhoni. (Photo Source: AFP) The Indian skipper did manage to score a 47 runs knock off 75 deliveries in the second ODI and in the third ODI played a genuinely good innings of 69 runs. But he failed to deliver in the chase in the first ODI and also missed quite a number of tricks as a captain. Also, he opted for defensive mind-sets in captaincy which led India to dreadful consequences in the first two ODIs. (© Getty Images) Rahane was played in the first ODI of the series and he did not manage to come up with a performance when it was most needed. He was dismissed for a score of 9 and literally gave away his wicket by playing a casual drive through the cover region. Ambati Rayudu, 5/10: Ambati Rayudu. (Photo Source: AFP) Rayudu played his first game in the second ODI and was dismissed for a duck after playing a good shot that went straight into the hands of the fielder at point region. In the third ODI, he assisted Dhoni to build a decent partnership but was the victim of a umpiring bug that cost him his wicket. Suresh Raina, 7.5/10: Suresh Raina. (© Getty Images) Raina did a fair amount of all-round performance for the team in the series. In the first ODI, he bowled 10 overs and conceded just 40 runs. With the bat too, he tried to save the game for the team. In the second ODI, he did not manage to provide much impact but with the aid of his cameo in the third match, India managed to pose a threatening total and he bagged 3 wickets with the ball as well. Axar Patel, 4/10: Axar Patel. (Photo Source: BCCI) Axar was included in the team for the final two ODIs. In the second ODI, defending a small total, Axar did not manage to create much pressure onto the batsmen and was thrashed for boundaries. In the third ODI, he managed to strike a single wicket by conceding 48 runs which was fair enough when you defend a total of over 300. Ravindra Jadeja, 2/10: Ravindra Jadeja. (Photo Source: AFP) Ravindra Jadeja lack of form once again got badly exposed in this series. He was eventually dropped from the team after failing to perform in the first two matches. In the both the matches, he was way too much ordinary with the ball and in the first match, he did manage to pull off a resilient effort with the bat but it was not satisfactory. Stuart Binny, 5.5/10: Stuart Binny. (Photo Source: AFP) Binny was picked for the third match of the series and scored a mini unbeaten cameo of 17 runs off 11 deliveries and also opened the bowling for India. He did manage to take a single wicket by conceding 41 runs in his 6 overs. Mohit Sharma, 1/10: Mohit Sharma. (Photo Source: BCCI) Mohit was included in the squad for the first match. He was brutally thrashed in the match and conceded 53 runs in 4.4 overs and managed to take the wicket of Mashrafe Mortaza. Umesh Yadav, 3.5/10: Umesh Yadav. (© Getty Images) Umesh was dropped from the squad for the second ODI after his expensive bowling in the first ODI. In the first ODI, he did manage to pick 2 wickets but conceded 58 runs in his 8 overs. In the third ODI, he failed to prove a point and went for 33 runs in 4 overs. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, 4/10: Bhuvneshwar Kumar. (© Getty Images) Bhuvaneshwar did manage to perform well with the ball in the first ODI and took 2 wickets by conceding 37 runs in his 7 overs. In the second ODI, he looked pretty ordinary. His deliveries were pretty much predictable and batsmen did not find the least of difficulty in playing him. Dhawal Kulkarni, 7/10: Dhawal Kulkarni. (Photo Source: AFP) Kulkarni played in the final two ODIs of the series. In the second ODI, he managed to pick up a single wicket in his 7 overs and conceded 42 runs. In the third ODI, he did bowl as per the plans and gave away just 34 runs in his 8 overs and took 2 crucial wickets. He performed really well in the final ODI. Ravichandran Ashwin, 8.5/10: R Ashwin. (Photo Source: AFP) Ashwin had been the pick of the bowlers for India and took 6 wickets in the series. In the second ODI, his overs did give India some hope to pull up a victory as he conceded just 32 runs in his 10 overs. In the third ODI as well, he played decently well and throughout the series, Ashwin managed to provide India with the required breakthroughs.
