Indian superfan, Sudhir Gautam to be provided tight security for the 3rd ODI: After India’s series defeat against Bangladesh, the Bangladeshi fans seem to be over-joyed and as a result of which Sudhir Gautam, the most consistent Indian Cricket fan, was attacked by the opposition supporters in Dhaka. Reportedly, he was attacked by the mob and he was victimised to some levels of harassment.

Owing to that, special security measures have been arranged for him ahead of the last game of the series. Also, the Indian fan would be given special security when he comes to cheer Indian team in their practice sessions on Tuesday and also for the final ODI between India and Bangladesh on Wednesday.

Sudhir got involved in an ugly altercation with the Bangladesh fans after the home team managed to pull off their maiden series win against India, beating the visitors by a margin of 6 wickets in the second ODI. Sudhir, however managed to escape unhurt.

Sudhir said, “”When the match got over, and before the presentation, everyone around me had stood up on their seats. And I felt someone push me from behind. The crowd was animated so I quickly left the stands.”

Sudhir, the person who attends every match that the team plays with the tri-colour painted on his body said that he wanted to exit but there was a throng of people outside the main gates too who started taunting him. On seeing it, Sudhir managed to escape through a side gate and sheltered himself in a saloon where he used to have his hair cut prior to the match.

He also mentioned that some policemen assisted him to ensure his safety. On Monday, the police authority met Sudhir. He said, “I told them I didn’t want to file any complaint. It’s over. But they have posted guards outside. Two guards will accompany me to India’s practice session and bring me back. And on the day of the match, there will be four guards with me.”

This happened to be Sudhir’s seventh visit to Bangladesh and he himself admitted of the fact that nothing like this happened with him in the past and this was indeed a pathetic experience.

Also, while the Indian team walked back to the dressing room after the match, a group of Bangladeshi fans mockingly chanted ‘Mauka Mauka’ but the Indian team seemed lethargic to draw their concerns to such minnow matters.
