Mosaddek Hossain is one of the rising stars of Bangladesh cricket right now and it was not easy for him to reach the highest level. The youngster broke into the international arena in January 2016 in a T20 International against Zimbabwe. He has impressed everyone in his short career so far and is a regular feature in the ODI side. His all-round prowess has provided Bangladesh with a much-needed balance lower down the order. He has played crucial roles for his team in the limited overs format already and is one to watch out for in the near future.

However, very few know the background story of the 21-year-old when he lost his father when he was in the eighth standard. Mosaddek’s father Abul Kashem was a service holder in Mymensingh District Sports Association. He dreamt of getting his sons ready to be known as big cricketers and used to take them for practice with brand new bats, pads and boots. His sudden death jolted Mosaddek and his family as his mother was left alone in the world to raise three tender aged children. The cricketer has twin younger brothers whose names are Mosabber Hossain and Mosadder Hossain.

I went through tremendous hardships

Despite the death of her husband, the mother of Mosaddek, Hosne Ara, took the vow of not letting to diminish the dream of his husband. She tried hard to keep things alive but nothing was easy for a lonesome woman to deal with. “We had a little land. I sold that to admit my younger sons to BKSP. I was alone. It was not easy to sell a piece of land for me. I went through tremendous hardships,” she told bdcrictime describing the story her struggle.

She also said that her son always takes her blessings before going out on the field. “Whenever my son go for a match, he calls me and said me to pray for him,” the brave mother added. His twin brothers respect their elder brother a lot and respect him like they did for their father. “We never went with bad company in fear lest someone tell our brother. Still we try to return home within 10 pm at night,” Mosabber said.

Both Mosabber and Mosadder has been playing cricket and they are showing all-round performance like their elder brother. One of them is playing for Sheikh Jamal in the domestic league and the other is in Kalabagan Krira Chakra. However, their mother dreams of all her sons to play for their country. “Nobody in the world could be happier than me if that would happen someday,” Hosne Ara said.
