The Mumbai Indians (MI) are done and dusted with their quarantine period ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). The team, led by Rohit Sharma, had their first training session at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The skipper, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, batsman Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya and many others were seen in action during the session.

After sweating it out, Surya and Hardik were involved in a rather hilarious conversation. The former uploaded a picture where he was seen, making a full-stretch dive to catch the ball. Surya captioned the picture and wrote, “SKY is clear to fly.” He has been a part of MI since the 2018 edition and has played some handy knocks for them at the top of the batting order.

In the meantime, Hardik had something to ask to his teammate. Commenting on the post, he wrote, “Hahaha knee aur elbow theek haina?”

Surya had an equally rib-tickling reply up his sleeve. He insisted on applying iodex and going ahead. Replying to Hardik, he wrote, “iodex maliye kaam Pé chaliye,”

Hardik Pandya back on the field after becoming a father

As far as Hardik is concerned, he hasn’t played for India for nearly a year since the home T20Is against South Africa back in September 2019. The Baroda cricketer was picked for the Proteas ODIs, but he couldn’t play as the COVID-19 pandemic played spoilsport. Despite not playing much cricket, Hardik has kept himself busy, especially in the year 2020.

After a rough 2019, he has managed to turn things around in the current year. On January, he proposed to Serbian model Natasa Stankovic, starting the year in a grand style. Then in May, he announced the pregnancy of his wife. And earlier in August, the 26-year-old Hardik became father to a baby boy and named him Agastya.

However, Pandya would now be keen to perform for MI, keeping aside his parental duties for a brief while. He will be desperate to find some rhythm before India’s tour of Australia later this year. He made his debut in 2016 and has been a vital cog in India’s limited-overs teams.
