IPL 10: Javagal Srinath to officiate in the IPL final as Match Referee

S Ravi and Nigel Llong will officiate as the umpires in the IPL finals this season.

Former Indian cricketer Javagal Srinath is all set to officiate in the finals of the Indian Premier League in the capacity of the Match Referee. Srinath has also been named as the Match Referee for the first Qualifier this season. The BCCI announced the same in a recent statement released by them. Srinath has been a veteran of the trade and has been serving in the capacity of match official for a long time now.

Javagal Srinath has served in the role in international fixtures as well. He is one of the most revered and respected officials in the elite list of officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC). Along with Javagal Srinath, Manu Nayar and Colonel Chinmaya Sharma will be officiating as Match Referees in the Qualifier 2 and the Eliminator.

“The match referees’ responsibilities throughout the Playoffs will be shared between Javagal Srinath, Manu Nayar and Colonel Chinmaya Sharma,” the BCCI quoted in a statement

Talking about the official umpires, S Ravi and C Shamshuddin will officiate as the on-field umpires in Qualifier 1. S Ravi and Nigel Llong will officiate as the umpires in the IPL finals this season. The full list of umpires asked to officiate in the finals is as follows – S Ravi, C Shamshuddin, O Nandan, Yeswant Barde, Anil Chaudhary, Nitin Menon, A Nanda Kishore, KN Ananthapadmanabhan and Nigel Llong.

Playoffs Schedule

The top two teams in the league stages will be locking horns in the Qualifier 1. The winner of Qualifier 1 will head to the finals. The loser of the match will face the winner of the Eliminator (the contest between the 3rd and 4th placed teams) in the Qualifier 2. The winner of the Qualifier 2 will clash with the winner of the Qualifier 1 in the finals of the season.

Qualifier 1 – May 16, 2017 at Mumbai

Eliminator – May 17, 2017 at Bengaluru

Qualifier 2 – May 19, 2017 at Bengaluru

Final – May 21, 2017 at Hyderabad
