The Sunrisers Hyderabad has been in a superb form both with the bat and the ball as they have won their first two matches in style. The team looks in good shape and has a wonderful blend of batsmen and bowlers and would look to field an unchanged side for the third game. Their openers have looked solid and will once again have the task of starting things in fine fashion.

As far as the bowling department is concerned both the spinners and the pacers have done a wonderful job but it’s Rashid Khan who has managed to stand out. He earned the purple cap in his last match picking up three wickets and would look to repeat a similar performance in his next. To sum it up, the defending champions would be hoping to continue their winning run in the 10th season of the IPL and become the fourth team to win the trophy two times.

So, let us look at the predicted XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Openers (David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan)

The Sunrisers Hyderabad has been a solid batting unit since the start of the 10th season of the Indian Premier League. They put up a big score on the board batting first in the opening match and chased down a decent total in their second game. Both their openers David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan have proved how dangerous they can be up the order.

Dhawan scored a brilliant 40 in the first match setting up the tone for the match whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner smashed 76 runs off just 45 balls to see his team past the finish line in the second. So looking at the form these two batsmen are in, there would be no stopping the defending champions if the two gets going at the same time. Against a decent Mumbai bowling line-up, these two openers will have the task of seeing off the new ball and score a flurry of runs in the powerplay giving their side the much-needed momentum up the order.

Middle Order (Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh and Deepak Hooda)

Moises Henriques has been the most consistent Sunrisers’ player so far in the two games they have played. He came out in both the matches after one of the two openers got dismissed and looked solid right from the start of his innings. He struck brilliant half centuries in both the matches and was instrumental in his team’s victories. He has been a bit expensive as far his bowling is concerned but has managed to pick up wickets in crunch situations. His ability with both the bat and the ball makes him a sure shot pick for the team.

Yuvraj Singh is still going strong at the age of 35 years and he proved that in the first game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The left-hander with a high back lift smashed the ball all around the park scoring 62 runs off just 27 balls. His blistering innings included 7 boundaries and three sixes as the player went along his innings at a strike rate of 229.62.

Deepak Hooda remained unbeaten in the crease at the end of the Sunrisers innings as they posted a total of 207 on the board in their first match. He played pretty well for his 16 runs and did not get the opportunity to bat in the second as Warner and Henriques fulfilled the task gorgeously. The 21-year-old has the capability of hitting the big shots and can be an important player for the franchise if the top order fails.

Lower Middle Order (Ben Cutting and Naman Ojha)

Ben Cutting is an important player for the Hyderabad franchise and he proved the same in last year’s final when he absolutely destroyed the RCB bowling line up scoring a 15 ball 39. This year he has not got much batting time yet as the top order has been in a superb form. But he is a class batsman who can accelerate an innings at his will and has the ability to clear the fence every now and then.

Naman Ojha, who is the wicket-keeper of the side is quite a handy batsman lower down the order and can be a potential opener for the side as well if needed. He is an athletic individual and possesses excellent qualities behind the stumps which earn him a sure shot place in the side.

Bowlers (Bipul Sharma, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashish Nehra)

Bipul Sharma started the bowling for the Sunrisers in their last match and bowled pretty economically as he gave away just 24 runs in his 4 overs. He also has the ability to pick crucial wickets as he picked up a wicket in their opening game where he just got to bowl an over. The left-arm spinner who is also effective with the bat and can chip in with some important runs when needed.

The Afghan bowler who was picked up during the Indian Premier League auction which was held in the month of February has been sensational in the first two matches as he has picked up 5 wickets in the two games combined. There were a lot of curiosity regarding the performance of the 18-year-old and Rashid Khan has successfully lived up to the expectations of the fans. The bowler absolutely ran through a destructive Gujarat batting line up as he showed immense confidence with the ball. His variations have been tough to pick for the batsmen as he often produces a wonderful googly.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled brilliantly in the last match as he gave away just 21 runs picking up 2 wickets in his four overs. Another highlight of his scintillating spell was he managed to bowl 10 dot balls out of the 24 deliveries he bowled which is quite a thing to be proud of in the shortest format of the game. The bowler has the responsibility to strike early in the innings and would look to do exactly the same in the next match. The bowler also has the ability to swing the ball both ways which is always a scare for any batsman.

Ashish Nehra who had made a late comeback into the Indian team might be a bit expensive in his spells but has the knack of picking important wickets. He picked up two wickets in Sunrisers’ first match though he went for 42 runs in his four overs. He was more economical in the following match as he completed his spell being hit for just 27. He is a good bowler to look up to at the death and has a lot of experience in this format which is an added advantage for the champions.
