Australian cricketer Aaron Finch will be playing for the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL this year. The experienced cricketer doubles up as a handy bowler and can roll his arm over when required. Ahead of the start of the season, Finch seems to be excited to join his new team. Generally an aggressive character on the field, Finch is the opposite off the field and likes to speak his mind.

This care-free attitude of the Aussie merc makes him a perfect fit in the Kings XI side. He will undoubtedly get to express himself during the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Finch who has played at almost all the grounds across the world seems to have a special liking for the ones in India’s Indore and Mohali.

Finch terms Mohali and Indore crowd amazing

The 31-year-old who will be missing the opening game for the KXIP due to his marriage recently spoke to kxip.in. “I am really looking forward to playing in Mohali and Indore,” he said. “I’ve played there quite a bit, and the crowd has always been amazing. I am really looking forward to being on the right side of such a passionate crowd,” the opener further added.

The Mohali pitch, which is usually a belter for the batsmen will suit Finch perfectly to the T. It is that sort of a wicket where batsmen can score big and quick runs once they get their eye in. The Aussie also shared his best memory that is associated with the Mohali ground.

“My favorite memory at Mohali is not associated with the Indian Premier League actually,” explained Finch. “But it came while playing India in an ODI,” he said.

It was during the third One-Day International, Australia were playing on their 2013 India tour. Rohit Sharma had stayed at the crease for a while and was looking set for a big one before Finchy picked up a skier from Sharma off the bowling of Shane Watson. The Australians went on to win the game by 4 wickets with just 3 balls to spare and Sharma’s wicket could well have been the difference.

“I managed to get Rohit Sharma out in an ODI. This is hard to do in the best of times in India,” he said with delight. “And he is a great player, so it was nice to get him out,” said Finch as he recalled the incident.
