The all-rounders are always an asset to any team and the budding cricketers are exciting as well as they bring the much needed energy to the table. Understandably, the franchises were waiting for them to arrive at the ongoing auctions of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They went all out for them and there was a real spring in their steps after the tea break. However, it was the young Kamlesh Nagarokoti who grabbed all the eyeballs as he will now play for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018.

He was bought by the franchise for Rs. 3.2 Crores and his raw pace in the ongoing U19 Cricket World Cup has worked wonders for him so early in his cricketing career. Though Rahul Tewatia was the first to go under the hammer and his heroics late in the last season went in favour of him. After starting with the bae price in Lakhs, he finally went on to garner Rs. 3 Crore from Delhi Daredevils. Sunrisers Hyderabad used Right to Match (RTM) card for Deepak Hooda and retained him for the upcoming season.

What about Krunal Pandya?

Krunal Pandya was obviously going to earn a huge money after his exploits last season and maximum franchises went for him. In the end, he was with Royal Challengers Bangalore at Rs. 8.8 Crores as Mumbai Indians used RTM card for him. But they had to let go Nitish Rana as he was snapped up by KKR for Rs. 3.4 Crore. Vijay Shankar and Harshal Patel were picked by DD for Rs. 3.2 Crore and 20 Lakhs respectively.

The young Australian cricket D’Arcy Short was expected to attract a lot of bids after he lit up the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL). Undoubtedly there as many as three franchises going for him. Finally it was Rajasthan Royals who added yet another talented cricketer to their kitty by paying Rs. 4 Crore to the cricketer. Jofra Archer also fared decently and went to Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 7.2 Crores.
