Trent Boult plucked the catch of the Indian Premier League (IPL) so far and sent back the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Virat Kohli. Delhi Daredevils (DD) was at the receiving end courtesy the blazing partnership between AB de Villiers and Kohli as they were taking the game away from them quickly. But an excellent and jaw-dropping catch from the Kiwi player made things interesting. However, everyone was stunned after looking at the catch but the closest was the ball boy at the boundary who was in awe of Boult.

Though the catch didn’t change the state of the game with De Villiers bashing all the bowlers of the opposition as Delhi lost the game by 6 wickets. But the catch from Boult was discussed all the way through and he might just have already shut the debate of who will clinch the ‘Best Catch of the Season’ award.

Ball boy in awe of Boult

Harshal Patel was the bowler who got the prized wicket of Virat Kohli but the ball didn’t deserve it at all. It was a harmless full toss going down the leg side as the batsman easily whipped it with a flick of wrists and didn’t bother to keep it down. The ball was meant to race past the deep square leg fielder where Trent Boult was stationed. But the Kiwi cricketer timed his jump perfectly to get his hand on the ball.

The job was not done for him as Boult had to push the ball down to his palm and get the stranglehold of it before falling near the boundary ropes. He also had to deal with the momentum with which he was going beyond the line to save it from going for six and just managed it by a whisker and despite his body which was in the air was over the boundary line, it never touched it which made it a successful catch.

Everyone including Bolt was stunned and it was the ball boy who watched the action closely only to be in awe of the fielder.
