8. Sunil Narine – 1

Sunil Narine became the first bowler to inflict a hat-trick in the 2013 IPL season. He was the find of the season for the Kolkata based franchise as his abilities to bowl in death overs and with the new ball impressed one and all. He was later the go to man for his captain as it was not easy for the opposition to read his variations that certainly made life difficult for the batsmen. He announced his arrival in a fashionable way in the cricket arena by picking first hat-trick for Kolkata Knight Riders. In a game against Kings XI Punjab, he grabbed all the eyeballs by his performance with the ball but wasn’t enough for his team to get over the line.
Narine got rid of David Hussey, Azhar Mahmood and Gurkeerat Singh in successive balls in the 15th over as the Kings found themselves reeling at the score of 99. It was a treat to watch someone from the Carribean Islands bowl spin and trapping batsmen at will courtesy his variations. The game was eventually won the hosts by a margin of just four runs as the KKR’s failed miserably to chase the target set by the Kings. From thereon, Narine has become an integral part of the KKR’s scheme of things and this was even evident when he was retained by them in the recently held player retention event for the forthcoming IPL beginning this April.
