The Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to enter in its new decade this season as all the eight teams are ready to fight it out for the glory. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is leaving no stone unturned in making it a huge event. Even the host broadcaster Star India is all set to begin its stint with the T20 extravaganza and make it a memorable one. However, in yet another delighting news for the tournament, CEAT has renewed its partnership with IPL as the Strategic Time Out Partner for next five years.
The concept of the strategic time-out was introduced a few years ago in order to give the teams a chance to recollect their plans during the course of the game. There are two time-outs of 2 minutes and 30 seconds during every innings, the first of which could be taken between the overs 6 and 9 and the second could be taken between the 12th and 16th over.
IPL Chairman delighted
BCCI confirmed the news of CEAT renewing the partnership with IPL on the official website of the tournament. The chairman Rajeev Shukla was delighted to announce the same and said, “We are delighted to have CEAT back as the Official Strategic Time Out Partner of the VIVO IPL. They have always been big supporters of the IPL and having them continue as partners for the next five years is a great testament to the Strategic Time Out Property and the League in general.”
The Managing Director of CEAT, Mr Anant Goenka was also happy to take their journey forward with the Indian T20 league. “Taking our journey forward with the BCCI, we are glad to announce our five-year sponsorship deal for VIVO IPL’s Strategic Time Out. This is an ideal platform for us to strengthen our brand prominence and visibility across the globe. The IPL has seen a meteoric rise in viewership and brand value in the past decade, and we are confident that the next five years will be equally momentous for VIVO IPL and CEAT alike,” he said.
The eleventh edition of the tournament is all set to commence on 7th April this year with the match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
