The Chennai Super Kings have a very consistent outfit in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. They have marched in to the playoffs and finished on the second spot in the points table after the conclusion of the league stages. In the last league game, the Super Kings were up against the Kings XI Punjab in the marquee clash in Pune. The hosts did everything right in the game to come up with a complete performance on the night.

Their bowlers came to the party to restrict the opposition to a mere 153 in the match. Lungi Ngidi was the pick of the bowlers for the Chennai Super Kings with figures of 4/10 to his name. Meanwhile, for the Kings, it was an innovative Karun Nair who top scored with 54 to his credit. In the run chase, the Super Kings were firmly anchored by an unbeaten 61 by Suresh Raina.

Well, almost everything went the way of the Chennai Super Kings in the match, save a bizarre and funny moment on the field. In a total comedy of errors, the CSK fielders were seen juggling the ball between themselves as the Kings happily stole runs in the mean time.

The action perspired in the 9th over of the Kings XI Punjab innings. Shardul Thakur was the bowler for the Super Kings as Manoj Tiwary took strike for the Kings. David Miller was at the other end of the crease. Thakur bowled a good length delivery as Manoj Tiwary punched it to the mid off region. The batsmen decided to steal a run. Ravindra Jadeja, sensing an opportunity, ran hard and had a direct shy at the non-striker’s end. There was nobody to gather the ball and the Kings got an overthrow. Well, things did not end just there.

Dwayne Bravo came running from the boundary region to collect the ball and had another shy at the striker’s end for a run out. This time, MS Dhoni failed to gather the ball and the ball went past him. The Kings took another run to make the most out of the opportunity. Sam Billings came in running to stop the ball and MS Dhoni was seen asking him to slowly throw the ball back to the bowler. He did so and the comedy of errors ended for the Chennai Super Kings.
