It would seem as though the Chennai Super Kings have started the Indian Premier League (IPL) in great fashion. The players have shown to what it means to play for CSK and it has become the team to beat again. While they pulled off a thriller at the Wankhede in the opening game against Mumbai, the second win was even more rewarding as it was in front of their home crowd who have been waiting for years to support their team at Chepauk.

However, the happy homecoming of CSK was dampened as the games from Chepauk have been moved out due to protests regarding the establishment of the Cauvery Management Board. The protesters hurled shoes into the stadium during the match which raised concerns over players safety. The city Police expressed their inability to provide adequate security for the remaining home games which eventually forced the management to shift the games to Pune.

Excitement dampened

Spectators who have purchased tickets for the games at Chennai can claim a refund from April 14. The refund counter(Booth 3) at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium, next to M.J. Gopalan Gate, Victoria Hostel Road, opposite to Chepauk railway station will provide the refund amount. The last date is April 20 and the operations will be on between 10 am- 6 pm. The spectators have to produce a valid original ticket to be eligible to claim the refund. In case of an online purchase, the amount will be automatically refunded to the respective bank account.

The MCA stadium in Pune was earlier set to host the eliminator and a Qualifier. But due to the shifting of the games from Chennai, the stadium will host six more games that will serve as home games for the Chennai Super Kings. Despite the shift, it is widely expected that fans will turn out in big numbers to offer their support to the Yellow Brigade.

The Super Kings are currently at the top of the table with two back to back wins. These wins will surely instill confidence in the side who has already lost key players due to injuries. Suresh Raina is also set to miss the next two games due to a calf injury. Faf du Plessis is expected to be fully fit and feature in the next game against the Kings XI Punjab on April 15.
