The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) began on a great note. The fans have got more entertainment than they would have ever expected. Long hits, breath-taking catches, amazing wickets- the fans witnessed it all. There were quite a few nail-biting games in the season in the first few games itself. The West Indian duo of Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell took the league by storm with some unbelievable hitting.

Amidst these wonderful performances, there were a few players who couldn’t really get going. There were a lot of expectations on these players before the tournament started. But, they disappointed in the first one week. Their teams will hope for these players to get back on track as soon as possible to yield the positive results.

Here are the disappointments from the first week:

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been in some great touch for quite some time now. He performed exceedingly well in South Africa to provide India with some memorable wins. Moreover, he also took a good break ahead of the IPL and didn’t play in the Nidahas Trophy. So there were quite a few expectations for him to do well after some good rejuvenation time. But, Kohli failed to reach the expectations with the bat in the first two games.

He played an uncharacteristic slow knock in the opener of the season. He scored 31 off 33 balls in that game which was a shocker to the fans. The team lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders in that game. However, RCB made a comeback in the game against Kings XI Punjab to win their first game of the season. Kohli who looked good in that game failed to convert his start into something substantial. He walked back to the pavilion after scoring 21 leaving the team in troubles.
