Chennai Super Kings secured a fantastic 13 run win against the Delhi Daredevils. This propelled them to the top of the points table. The batsmen have displayed some sensational form when it comes to scoring runs. Even their bowling has managed to keep them in hold though it’s not as good as their batting.

Harbhajan Singh who was stupendous with his bowling took to Twitter as he appreciated the team effort. Conceding just 26 runs in his four overs, his spell was important in restricting the Delhi Daredevils. He lauded Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni and Lungi Ngidi for their brilliant performances in the game.

Here’s what he tweeted

“CSK all the way!! Brilliant innings by @ShaneRWatson33 @msdhoni @RayuduAmbati and @NgidiLungi@ChennaiIpl March on! #CSKvsDD

Put to bat first by the Delhi Daredevils, Shane Watson was in a power hitting mode. Hitting seven sixes and four boundaries, he scored 78(40). Ambati Rayudu who came in at No.4 continued his splendid form with a quickfire 41(24). However, it was MS Dhoni’s magnificent 51(22) that guided CSK to 211/4.

As for Delhi, they lost Prithvi Shaw early. Colin Munro looked good for a while but couldn’t prolong his stay at the crease. The duo of Shreyas Iyer and Glenn Maxwell too failed to make any difference. However, the partnership between Rishabh Pant and Vijay Shankar instilled some faith.

They combined for a partnership of 88 runs from 53 balls with both scoring half centuries. However, the target was too big as they fell short by 12 runs. Lungi Ngidi who was making his IPL debut tonight also bowled fabulously at the death.

With this win, the Delhi Daredevils who are at the bottom of the table are all but done for the tournament. They need to win all their games from now to qualify for the playoffs which seems highly unlikely as of now. As of Chennai Super Kings, they’re just two wins away from booking a playoffs berth.
