The mega auctions are set to take place in Bengaluru the coming weekend when the franchises will build a new team after retaining their key player earlier this month. Also, the lucrative league is all set to commence on April 7 after a grand opening ceremony the day before. However, the home venues for Punjab franchise have also been confirmed.

The IPL Governing Council, after a meeting on Monday evening, have revealed a few key insights ahead of the next season. The most dramatic of the decisions is the change in timings for the matches in a bid to attract more viewership in the evening. There were also discussions on the home venue for Rajasthan Royals which is currently tipped to be Jaipur but not yet finalised.

Though the home venue for Kings XI Punjab has been finalised during the meeting. According to the reports, the franchise has decided to host four of their home games in Mohali at IS Bindra Stadium which remains the primary venue for them. However, the other three home games will be played in Indore at Holkar Stadium. Kings XI has a huge fan following in Mohali and are eager to play few of their matches at the venue.

Not long ago, the officials of the franchise had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the possibility of shifting their home matches out of Mohali. There was an issue between local government and state association regarding the security which needs to be provided to the players and to the Stadium during the matches which has been resolved now.

The franchise has retained only Axar Patel and would be looking forward to build a whole new team in the upcoming auction.
