Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Mumbai Indians in the opening encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. One of the most intrigued rivalries will renew as the much awaited season of the T20 extravaganza begins. The franchise retained the likes of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja as they went on to rope in the services of Imran Tahir in the auction as well. However, the South African leg-spinner has revealed his jersey number now which is similar to R Ashwin.

Tahir was bagged by CSK at his base price of Rs 1 Crore in the auction earlier this year in January. The Men in Yellow are returning to the T20 festival in India after a gap of two years and the players would be itching to stride out to the middle. The team will be as usual led by MS Dhoni who will also be returning to the helm for the first time ever since he gave up the captaincy of the Indian team in the limited overs format.

What did Tahir tweet in Tamil?

Imran Tahir seems to be excited ahead of the opening encounter of the season. Though it is unclear whether he will feature in the game against the defending champions, he will surely play a crucial role this season for CSK as the tournament will progress. Ahead of the match, Tahir took to Twitter to express his excitement of playing in the cash-rich tournament and tweeted in Tamil which must have already won the hearts of CSK fans.

Meanwhile, the cricketer has revealed his jersey number as 99 which is the same like Ashwin who will lead Kings XI Punjab in this season.

“The time has finally come to wear this prestigious thing.Cant wait for the action to start padayappa seekaram mudichutu vandudu #edudra vandiya poduda whistle,” he tweeted.

The meaning of the tweet is, “The time has finally come to wear this prestigious thing. Can’t wait for the action to start. It’s the time start the vehicle and finish the job quick. Whistle podu!” This message clearly shows that the cricketer from the rainbow nation is waiting eagerly to take the field.
