IPL 2018: KKR adds the former Indian all-rounder to their support staff

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been facing issues with an injury with their fast bowlers as Mitchell Starc and Kamlesh Nagarkoti were ruled out of the tournament. Even the likes of Mitchell Johnson had a niggle issue in the last game. They now have to bank on the raw pace battery of the country to take them forward in the tournament. However, in order to mentor them, KKR management has roped in the services of an experienced cricketer to mentor the youngsters in the squad for this season.
KKR is all set to lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday in front of their home crowd. They have also named Prasidh Krishna as the replacement for Nagarkoti who was ruled out of the tournament earlier in the day. They have played two matches so far and have tasted success in one of those matches while losing heartbreakingly in the other game.
Who is the new member?
The CEO of KKR, Venky Mysore, revealed the news on his official Twitter handle that they have appointed Abhishek Nayar as the mentor of the team. He was upbeat about the appointment of Nayar as Mysore felt that his experience would benefit the youngsters in the squad. “Pleased to welcome @abhisheknayar1 to the KKR support staff. The younger talent of the team will particularly benefit from Nayar’s experience & mentoring #KKRHaiTaiyaar @KKRiders,” he tweeted while welcoming the veteran.
Even Nayar was upbeat about his inclusion in KKR support staff and expressed his excitement to work with the team in purple and gold. “An honour sir and looking forward to it,” he wrote while retweeting the message from Venky. it is surely a huge boost to KKR as Nayar’s experience will come in handy for the team.
