IPL 2018: KKR will find their biggest fan in the stadium rooting for the team

Two-time champions and one of the most loved teams Kolkata Knight Riders will start their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 campaign with a game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The clash is slated to be held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata later in the day and Dinesh Karthik led Knight Riders will want the passionate fans to back them.

KKR have always enjoyed a huge following and though they’ll be taking the field without Gautam Gambhir for the first time in years but the crowd will be there to back them up every ball. To make things better and to get their energies up, the team owner Shah Rukh Khan will also be a part of the Purple Army for the opening encounter.

SRK is believed to have a pretty packed schedule during the IPL this time and thus will not be able to make it for all their home matches. Nevertheless, he wants to ensure that the team has his support at least in the first match. Sportstar reported that sources who are in knowledge of the same confirmed Khan’s present and it will not only be him but his friends from the B-Town as well.

He is shooting for his movie ‘Zero’ that also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. They have sequences to shoot not only in India but also in the US. Considering the match is between KKR and RCB it is expected that Mrs Kohli might also make time for the game. However, there is no confirmation on the same.

Exciting contest

While Kolkata have a different looking team as they let go some of their most followed faces in Gautam Gambhir, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan and Shakib Al Hasan; RCB have managed to retain the core of their squad with the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Yuzvendra Chahal still there. It will be an exciting contest as both teams will want to draw first blood, on paper Bangalore do have a better-looking squad but with thousands rooting for them expect Knight Riders to put up an inspired show.
