To be able to support my wife to meet her goals means everything to me: Dinesh Karthik

Apart from performing their hard-fought jobs on the cricket field, the cricketers around the world are also ought to spare some amount of their quality time for their family and their loved ones. And the various sports personalities have managed their respective personal responsibilities very nicely.

Likewise, Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik who is married to an Indian squash ace player Dipika Pallikal and the wicket-keeper batsman is a great supportive partner who has acknowledged his wife for all her current as well as future achievements. Dipika has already landed in Australia, where she would be taking part in the Common Wealth Games 2018, while her husband couldn’t accompany her to the event as he will be playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as their skipper in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

I have always supported her in everything: Karthik

In his recent post on Twitter, the newly appointed KKR captain re-cherished some of the memorable moments when his wife won the prestigious gold medal along with her partner Joshna Chinappa in a doubles competition in the last edition of the Common Wealth Games held in Glasgow. It was a proud moment as Dipika had made her country proud by achieving the landmark and also for Karthik who was with her wife in Scotland, playing the much needed supportive role during that event. He also hopes that his partner would be having a great time representing the country on the Gold Coast 2018 event.

Four years back we both got on a plane heading home with a gold medal from the Commonwealth Games, today as she lands for yet another Commonwealth Games after four long years of hard work, I can only hope that she has a time of her life in Gold Coast,” wrote Karthik on Twitter.

Dipika has prepared very hard for this tournament

Karthik also mentioned the intense hard work and the toughness which Dipika has maintained during the last four years in preparing herself for this massive event. Amidst her training sessions, the squash ace has also managed her family and awarded equal amount of support and time to her husband.

“These four years have been tough. She’s worked hard, lived out of a suitcase for many months, looked after our home, supported me through everything and yet never once complained about anything. For me to be able to support her is everything,” further added the wicket-keeper batsman.
