Young Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon will be setting the stage on fire at the closing ceremony of IPL 2018 on Sunday at the Wankhede stadium. The organisers of the event wanted a new and fresh face, yet a familiar one to celebrate the end of the glamorous tournament, and Kriti fits the bill perfectly.

Ever since her debut in Bollywood in the movie Heropanti opposite Tiger Shroff, she has been a popular figure among the young brigade of the tinsel town. Kriti has bagged roles in some big films, starring even bigger names, including Shahrukh Khan.

Her next project is with Ashutosh Gowariker for his period piece Panipat, featuring Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt alongside Kriti. It is scheduled to be released next year. Popular comedy franchise Housefull 4 by Sajid Khan is also on the line, where she will star along with the likes of Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh.

This will be Kriti’s second performance for the cricket-crazy fans of India. She has already performed once in the opening ceremony of IPL 2016, so she is probably familiar with the format. This year, spectators can expect to see her performing to peppy numbers from her movies Dilwale, Heropanti, Raabta and the latest one, Bareilly ki Barfi, tracing her four year run at the Hindi film industry.

Kriti uploaded a video of her rehearsing for the event on her Instagram account, with the hashtag #IPLRehearsals.

Jacqueline Fernandez and Katrina Kaif will also be there on the stage with their own performances. The closing ceremony will start at 5.30 PM, before Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad lock horns for the ultimate match. The match itself will start at 7 PM, and before that the toss will be held at 6.30. SRH lost against the same opposition in the Qualifier 1, before beating KKR in the Qualifier 2 to reach the final. Only time will tell what they have in store for the Grand Finale.
