The Kolkata Knight Riders have been one of the most successful teams of the Indian Premier League. Gautam Gambhir had led the team to two IPL titles in the past. For the eleventh edition, the management decided to revamp the squad and went in with a lot of young talent. Dinesh Karthik was named the skipper and at the start of the season, KKR didn’t seem to be the team that would challenge the other top teams for the title. But the team proved their doubters wrong and now are strong contenders for the coveted title.

KKR were facing SRH in Qualifier 2 who did not look like a side that had just topped the points table at the end of league stages. Their batsmen weren’t supporting the bowlers as KKR certainly looked the stronger of the two sides heading into the playoffs. Skipper Dinesh Karthik won the toss and put SRH into bat.

The Orange army made a cautious start to the innings and just when they were going to up the ante, Kuldeep Yadav came in and delivered for his side.

The big fish fell in the same over

The chinaman took two wickets in the same over to put SRH on the backfoot. He got Dhawan out leg before wicket on his very first delivery while the Kiwi skipper was out caught behind as he was deceived by the spin and nicked the ball. The first dismissal was rather hilarious as Kuldeep Yadav took a tumble while appealing for the leg before wicket.

Here’s the video of the incident:

Kuldeep did not start the tournament well but he peaked just at the right time to deliver match-winning spells. He has been very impressive of late and has bamboozled the batsmen with his variations. Yadav finished with figures of two wickets for 29 runs.
