Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra is one of the renowned commentators across the fraternity right now and is doing a great job as an analyst. He is always quick to pounce on certain unnoticed details and sometimes tends to post certain witty tweets and entertain the fans. He once again had raised a very important flaw in the DRS, something which should be addressed immediately.

In the ongoing game between Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad, a peculiar incident took place. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s got KL Rahul rapped on the pads and to the naked eye, it looked plumb. The umpire felt the same and decided to raise his finger. KL Rahul had no hesitation in taking the DRS as he was sure that there was a faint edge.

Another detail to notice here is that the ball had raced away to the boundary off the pad. Once the third umpire decided to overturn the decision as there was conclusive evidence that it was not out, KL Rahul was allowed to stay and incidentally, the boundary was not given. Since he was not sentenced to walk back to the pavilion, why didn’t he get the boundary is the question everyone has in their mind.

Why should he lose a four?

A furious Aakash Chopra tweeted his dissent over the DRS rules. He questioned as to why the batter should lose a boundary in such case as this can be crucial in deciding the outcome of the game. Over the years, we have seen one or two runs separating two sides and Aakash Chopra noted what if this had been the last ball of a World Cup final.

“KXIP lose a boundary….need to address the DRS issue. Given out…referred…reversed. Why should you lose a four? Could be the last ball of the World Cup final,” Aakash Chopra tweeted. The Sunrisers are off to a bad start with the ball and will be hoping to turn things around as they approach the final few overs of the innings.
