IPL brings people from all fields together and every year, there are few new names and even newer faces on the bandwagon. This year, the IPL community has been floored on social media by a so-called ‘mystery’ woman who was recorded by the field cameraman in the stands of Chennai Super Kings. She was seen cheering for the yellow brigade with her full attention.
A picture of her giving multiple expressions in the last over of the KKR match in Chennai went viral and people started wondering who this new face was. She was later seen celebrating the win with Sakshi and Priyanka, spouses of MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina after Bravo drove the match home.
To answer the internet, the woman named Malti Chahar, herself revealed her identity on her Instagram profile. She turned out to be the sister of young CSK pacer Deepak Chahar. She uploaded a collage of her nervous and worried look that made her famous and took the humorous path with her captions.
In an exclusive interview with TOI, she revealed how it felt to be suddenly famous all-over the country. A lot of people had been lauding her adorable expressions and messaging her to say that, calling her ‘sister’ because of her relationship with the cricketer.
“People were praising my expressions and thanking me for supporting Chennai Super Kings many people call me sister, because I am Deepak Chahar ‘s sister and some messages are like- Malti sister you are so cute, I love you,” she explained the situation. Her other sibling Rahul is playing for the defending champion Mumbai Indians.
When asked about her favourite moment so far, she said it had to be when she met MS Dhoni for the first time. A month ago she had uploaded a picture with the captain cool, and said that he was an “awesome person” and “a sweetheart”.
Malti will be working with veteran actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in her next acting project Genius by director Anil Sharma. She has played her own share of sports as well. She has participated in national level shot put and high jump competitions. A software engineer graduate from IET Lucknow, Malti is also a finalist of the FBB Femina Miss India 2014.
