Sunrisers Hyderabad brought an end to their winless streak at the Eden Gardens with a 5-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders. A collective bowling effort restricted the home side to just 138/8 in the 20 overs. The KKR spinners tried to defend the low total but the Sunrisers’ skipper led his team with a 44-ball 50. The former KKR player Yusuf Pathan finished the game by hitting the winning runs while another former player Shakib Al Hasan had a successful game with both bat and ball.

1 – For the first time Sunrisers Hyderabad won an IPL game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They faced the home side on five occasions in the previous five season and lost in all of them.
