The Indian T20 extravaganza has begun and what a start it was to the eleventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday! Chennai Super Kings (CSK) announced their return by defeating one of the fiercest rivals in the history of IPL Mumbai Indians (MI) by just 1 wicket in a thriller. Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) will try to open their account at IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. However, with rain around in the country will the fans in Punjab be able to witness the full game?

It will be a captaincy debut for R Ashwin in IPL when he will walk for the toss with Gautam Gambhir who will not be in purple and gold jersey this time. He is back with his home franchise and will be hoping to repeat the heroics he achieved while he was with Kolkata Knight Riders. Though it will be interesting to see the way they will handle their respective teams given that it there are some of the T20 superstars in both the sides.

Will it rain in Mohali?

According to Accu Weather, currently, it is partly sunny in Mohali and about to be cloudy by noon with the temperatures hovering around 32 Degree Celsius. Interestingly, it will be mostly cloudy during the match timings (4 PM IST) with the atmosphere cooling down up to 26 Degree Celsius. Though it will be cloudy throughout the duration of the game, there are no chances of rain which is a good news for the fans.

Almost 80% of cloud cover is expected and overcast conditions might help the fast bowlers a great deal. Afternoon start to a game means there will be no humidity which should hold the players is good stead. For overseas players, it will be a pleasant outing as they will not have to deal with the scorching heat.

Overall Verdict: It will be cloudy ahead of the game and during the match as well but it won’t rain. The crowd will be able to witness the action of full 40 overs as KXIP and DD would be aiming to win their first encounter of the season.
