The Delhi Daredevils (DD) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) hasn’t had the smoothest of runs in the ongoing version of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both teams will be pitted against each other today at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi. The deck was a belter the other night in Delhi’s match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and it’s expected to be no different than the earlier game.
Though Delhi lost their game against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), their batsmen, especially the middle order performed exceedingly well. The bowlers have blown hot and cold, and needs to bring from their A-game against Rajasthan in order for them to get a stranglehold on the visitors. Meanwhile, the Royals had some concerns surrounding their batting.
They couldn’t accelerate against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) which eventually led to their defeat. On a batting-friendly wicket, another lacklustre performance might land them in grave danger. While Ajinkya Rahane’s men are in a precarious position as far as the league table is concerned, the home team are in a do or die situation and needs to win all their games from here on.
Delayed to the wet outfield?
The atmosphere is expected to be scorching hot throughout the day with the temperature increasing to as much as 41 degrees Celsius. However, the worrying factor would be the dark clouds which be hovering over the ground from the afternoon itself. Chances of rain are from 1 pm and they increase from 4 pm to 6 pm. However, there is no rain expected from around 7 pm.
Overall verdict
The game might get delayed due to a wet outfield, provide the heaven opens up for even an hour. The drainage system has to be in place in order to minimise the delay. Meanwhile, the crowd in the Capital city won’t be hoping for the game to be rain-truncated.
