The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have already qualified for the playoffs. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) require one more victory to nearly assure themselves a position in the top four. Both teams have had contrasting fortunes in their erstwhile encounters. While the Sunrisers thumped the Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Feroz Shah Kotla, CSK slumped against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur.
Both teams would now be locking horns with each other at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune. The SRH bowling was taken to the cleaners by Shreyas Iyer and Co. the other night. However, the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar can’t be undermined owing to one bad performance. Nevertheless, the task of restricting the Chennai batsmen won’t be a cakewalk.
Moreover, the batting of SRH has also delivered the goods, which is definitely a positive sign for them going ahead in the tournament. CSK’s bowlers have been found wanting at times and they have a lot to ponder about before they take the field against Kane Williamson’s vibrant bunch of boys. Meanwhile, another defeat for MS Dhoni’s men might just make them press the panic button.
Scorching heat to embrace the teams
According to Accu Weather, there are no chances of rain for the time being, which is a good news to start with for the teams. However, the heat in the afternoon might be an issue for the teams, especially the one who will be fielding first. The temperature is expected to start around the 38 degrees Celsius at around 4 pm and by the time the game ends, it will be around 32 degrees Celsius.
Overall verdict
The temperature may be on the higher side, but the humidity won’t be much during the game. Moreover, dew might settle in the second-half of the match, which will be a bonus for the chasing side.
