IPL 2018: Match 6, Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Daredevils – Statistical Highlights

The Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils game turned out to be the first IPL match in 1795 days for Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium. However, the fans in Jaipur couldn’t witness a full 20-over game as rain interfered towards the end of RR’s innings. The home side scored 153/5 in 17.5 overs before a two and half hours of rain break. Delhi Daredevils needed 71 in six overs after DLS adjustment but could only make 60/4.

4 – Colin Munro became the 4th player to be run out on the very first ball of an IPL inning. Karan Goel in 2009, Adam Gilchrist in 2011 and Murali Vijay in 2012 are the other three players to be dismissed via run out on the first ball of an IPL inning.
5 – Rajasthan Royals’ win in the game brought an end to the 5-match streak of toss winning teams electing to bowl first and winning in this season. This was also the 5th consecutive win for the home team after MI lost to CSK in the season opener.
13 – Rajasthan Royals registered their 13th consecutive win in the Twenty20 format and 9th consecutive IPL win in Jaipur. RR won eight IPL matches and four CLT20 games at this venue in 2013.
34 – This game was the 34th IPL game in Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium but the first to witness Duckworth-Lewis (Stern) method coming into play.
150 – Gautam Gambhir became the 8th player to feature in 150 matches in the IPL. He represented Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders in the league so far.
677 – Ajinkya Rahane scored 677 runs in the IPL against Delhi Daredevils. These are the most number of IPL runs for any player against DD. He surpassed Rohit Sharma’s tally of 670 runs against DD in the league.
1027 – Runs Sanju Samson scored for Rajasthan Royals in the Twenty20 format. He became the 5th player to score 1000 T20 runs for RR. Samson started the game with 991 T20 runs for the Rajasthan franchise.
