Royal Challengers Bangalore opened their winning account of the 2018 IPL with a close 4-wicket win at home against the Kings XI Punjab. KL Rahul powered his team to yet another quick start before Umesh Yadav’s 3-wicket over slowed down the run rate. Ravichandran Ashwin’s 33 towards the end ensured his team finished with 155 before getting bowled out in the final over. Quinton de Kock’s 45 at the top and 40-ball 57 from AB de Villiers helped the home side get over the line after KXIP spinners restricted them.

3/23 – Umesh Yadav’s bowling figures in this game. He took a total of 13 wickets in his last five matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Umesh took a 4-wicket haul in the last year’s ODI against Australia and bagged six wickets in the three games in the 2017 IPL.
