Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Michael Hussey have been associated with the Chennai Super Kings for quite a while now. Dhoni has been the skipper of the team ever since the inaugural season and has captained the team to several victories over the years. On the other hand, Hussey has played some glorious knocks for the team and is currently their batting coach. Meanwhile, their experience has also benefitted a number of youngsters throughout their careers.
Recently, Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batsman Narayan Jagadeesan heaped praises on the cricketing legends in a recent interaction with chennaisuperkings.com. He was picked at his base price by the CSK franchise in the auction in Bangalore in January. The wicket-keeper batsman talked about the learning he has garnered after talking to the retired Australian cricketer.
The teachings of the greats for Jagadeesan
“It’s always a special feeling when you have a cricket chat with Hussey. He is someone who has proved himself across formats and is called Mr. Cricket for a reason. It’s always good to pick his brains and learn a new sets of tricks. I asked him the way he would go about playing a bowler, especially when he wants to attack him. There are so many players like me who are not able to clear the boundary line at will. I have been working on that and I am looking to get a similar mentality of how he approached it,” he said.
Jagadeesan also talked about the inputs which he got from MS Dhoni, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman and also mentioned playing for CSK as a special moment in his career.
“I was asking him about my weak points and how he would have tackled those situations. He also spoke about how he focuses on his ‘keeping and gave me inputs on how to get better. Being picked up by CSK is really special, especially with me playing for Tamil Nadu and now playing for the Lions,” the Tamil Nadu cricketer added.
