IPL 2018: Netflix to broadcast eight-part series on Mumbai Indians

Netflix is an American entertainment company which is currently into film, television and online distribution. The company has a significant base across the globe because of the variety of content it serves. The eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is currently underway and Netflix has taken the opportunity to engage themselves with the cash-rich league.

As per reports in Zee News, they will be launching a new eight-part series on the Mumbai Indians for the followers. They have collaborated with Conde Nast Entertainment (CNE) in order to produce the series. The shooting has already started with Rohit Sharma’s men’s opening game against the Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The life of all the cricketers from their on-field antics to their daily whereabouts outside the field of play will be covered by Netflix. The series will be available in 190 nations which includes over 117 million members across the globe. Al Edgington, Joe LaBracio, Dawn Ostroff, Jeremy Finn, Jamie Stewart and James Maby are the executive producers of the series.

Not an auspicious opening for Mumbai

Mumbai didn’t have an overwhelming start to their campaign as they slumped against MS Dhoni’s men by one wicket. They started in a dismal manner s they lost Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis in quick succession. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan compiled a useful partnership which bailed them out of the precarious position.

Krunal Pandya pulled out some lusty blows to propel their score. During the run chase, Mumbai had the upper hand during a chunk of the game with some flurry of wickets. However, Dwayne Bravo stomped in and took their bowlers by the scruff of the neck. The onslaught turned out to be too hot to handle for Mumbai and they were thumped by the Super Kings.
