IPL 2018: Preity Zinta promises to do something special if KXIP wins the tournament

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are in great form in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and are sitting pretty at the top of the points table. Their openers KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have set the stage on fire as their amazing hitting skills have come to the fore for them. So far KXIP has won 4 matches out of the 5 they’ve played and are looking good to qualify for the playoffs. However, Preity Zinta, the owner of the team, has promised to do something special for the team if they go on to win the tournament.

KXIP has struggled historically in the last 10 editions of the Indian T20 extravaganza and rarely qualified into the knockouts. But this time around, they have picked a brilliant squad in the auction and their every buy is paying off. Mostly, the gamble to pick Chris Gayle has worked wonders with the Universe Boss winning the Orange Cap after playing just three fantastic knocks for his team.

What will Preity do?

KXIP thumped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their own den at the Eden Gardens the other day by chasing down the curtailed target of 125 runs in less than 12 overs. It was the opening duo which got them off to a sizzling start much like the last couple of game and both Rahul and Gayle smashed half-centuries as they rose to the top of the points table. The environment in the dressing room has been superb and even the team owner Preity Zinta was also happy after back-to-back victories.

However, after winning the game Preity and Rahul were involved in an amazing conversation during which both asked few questions to each other. Interestingly, Rahul recalled Shahrukh Khan doing the cartwheel after KKR winning the title and asked the Bollywood Diva if she will do anything for her team if they win the coveted title.

Well, the response from the pretty Preity revealed that she is planning something for the team. “Ok, I will do something special. I am not going to tell you. We are in it to win it and if we win, I will do something special,” she said according to the official website of the IPL. It will be interesting to see what she does as the team is certainly looking to turn the tables around this year.
