The Sunrisers Hyderabad have entered the finals of the IPL 2018. They are set to face off against the Chennai Super Kings for the ultimate glory. The Orange Army beat the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Qualifier 2 to set up their date with the Men in Yellow. Coming in to the game, they were the side under pressure as the opposition had the home support as well. But Sunrisers played exceedingly well to defend 174 and eventually win the match by 13 runs.

In the match, the Sunrisers Hyderabad messed up their batting after a good start. Their openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Wriddhiman Saha, had added 56 runs for the first wicket. But a twin strike from Kuldeep Yadav in the 8th over saw Dhawan and Kane Williamson perish. The middle order failed for the Sunrisers and the innings headed nowhere. It was final flourish of an unbeaten 10-ball 34 from Rashid Khan that transferred some life back in the innings. SRH finished with 174/7 in their 20 overs.

In the run chase, Kolkata got a flying start with Sunil Narine going great guns. Even after his departure, the chase looked under control with Chris Lynn and Nitish Rana scoring at a decent clip. But it was brilliant spell of Rashid Khan that put the brakes on the run chase. They lost the momentum big time and the big hitters were back in the hut a little too early. Shubman Gill kept trying till the final over but the Knight Riders eventually fell short by 13 runs.

Here are the Sunrisers Hyderabad Player Ratings for the match:

Shikhar Dhawan – 6/10

Veteran opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan had a decent time at the crease with the bat. He got off to a good start on the day. Dhawan scored 34 off the 24 balls that he faced. His stay at the crease saw him hit four fours and a six. Much to his disappointment, he failed to get going and make a big score.

Wriddhiman Saha – 4/10

Wriddhiman Saha was not a part of the starting eleven for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last few games. He found himself back in the side for this match. He added 56 runs with Shikhar Dhawan for the opening wicket in the game. He fared well for his 27-ball 35. However, with the keeping gloves, he had a poor outing as he dropped a couple of catches.

Kane Williamson – 3/10

The SRH skipper Kane Williamson has been the main man for his side with the bat this season. He, however, had a rare failure in this particular game. Williamson perished after scoring just 3 in the game. Later in the game, Williamson showed great composure to marshal his troops well.

Deepak Hooda – 4/10

Deepak Hooda had a good chance to make things count for him in the season. He came in the side at the expense of a big name like Manish Pandey. Hooda hit a six but that was pretty much the only shot that looked bright in his run-a-ball 19.

Shakib Al Hasan – 8/10

Shakib Al Hasan played a very big role in the game. The Bangladeshi all-rounder bowled three overs and returned with very impressive figures of 1/16 to his name. Carlos Brathwaite – 5/10

Earlier in the match, the big man had a very disappointing with the bat as he could only hit a solitary six.

Rashid Khan – 10/10

Rashid Khan was the difference between the two sides in the match. With the Sunrisers Hyderabad struggling in their innings, they needed a final flourish. Rashid gave that with a thundering unbeaten 10-ball 34 with 2 fours and 4 sixes to his name. Later, with the ball, he bagged the big wickets of Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, and Andre Russell. He finished with figures of 3/19 in the four overs that he bowled. On the field, he pocketed two catches and inflicted a run out as well.

Khaleel Ahmed – 1/10

Young Khaleel Ahmed had a tough day at the office. He got a place in the side and had his opportunity to make an impact. But the pace bowler was taken away fo 38 runs in the three overs that he bowled. A good positive in the game for him was the fact that he clocked 145 kmphs at a fairly consistent basis.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 2/10

Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a rare off day at the field with the ball in hand. The ace Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler failed to take any wicket. The KKR openers made merry against him early on in the run chase. In the four overs that he bowled, he conceded 38 runs.

Siddarth Kaul – 8/10

Siddarth Kaul was very impressive in the match with his bowling might. Barring the last ball of his spell that went for a six, he did everything in the way his skipper wanted him to do.
