Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will miss the services of Quinton de Kock for their next game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They won their last encounter against Mumbai Indians (MI) and are keen to continue their winning momentum. The unavailability of the South African wicket-keeper has made way for AB de Villiers who is fit after missing a couple of matches due to the viral fever. However, RCB will have to include Parthiv Patel in the team now as the specialist wicketkeeper which will force them to make a couple of changes.

It is a blessing in disguise for the Men in Red as they were facing a selection conundrum ahead of their clash against MS Dhoni and his team. De Kock has been playing well at the top of the order for them and the likes of Brendon McCullum and Colin de Grandhomme also did well in their previous outings. There is no question of dropping Tim Southee after his impeccable bowling efforts in the last game.

Vettori confirms the news

The coach of the team Daniel Vettori informed the news of Quinton De Kock not playing the next match but he was happy that De Villiers was back. “AB is back fit, Quinton is away from this game. Quinton has returned home for a wedding so he is unavailable for this match so probably it’s an easy decision for us to make,” he said in the pre-match press conference on Friday.

RCB are currently fifth in the points table and they would need to win at least 5 matches out of the remaining six. It would not be easy for them to trump CSK in Pune where they have been clinical so far but the return of De Villiers should boost their confidence and even Parthiv Patel is also capable of giving decent starts in the powerplay overs.
