Chris Gayle powered Kings XI Punjab to yet another victory in the IPL 2018, this time against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The hosts looked dominant during the whole part of the game and rightly won the game by 15 runs, conceding SRH their first defeat of the season.

It was KXIP captain Ravi Ashwin who won the toss and elected to bat first. Chris Gayle opened the innings along with KL Rahul. It was world boss who dominated the innings with his century. He stood there in the middle during the whole 20 overs and gave KXIP a boosting total.

Coming to the chase, SRH never looked in the game as they lost their opener Shikhar Dhawan with an injury (retired hurt). Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey tried to stitch a good partnership but failed to make it big. In the end, they conceded the game to KXIP by 15 runs.

During the innings break, Chris Gayle dedicated his knock to his daughter Crisalina, who turned two today, “A lot of people thought that I am old. Nothing to prove though. Wherever I go across the globe, just want to earn some respect. This one is dedicated to my daughter Crisalina though; it’s her birthday tomorrow. So, yeah, this is for her. Tomorrow she will turn two and it’s her first time in India. We’re hoping to have a nice time,” Chris Gayle quoted.

Wives were at the venue

KXIP cricketers wives marked their presence during the game and cheered for their husbands. Ravi Ashwin’s wife Prithi clicked a picture with Mrs Gayle and Mrs Yuvraj Singh after the game. She captioned it, Another #win in the bag for the Kings. So long, Mohali. @lionsdenkxip

KXIP will next play against Kolkata Knight Riders at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 21st April. With the likes of Gayle in their side, the Punjab side will aim to dominate the KKR franchise.
