IPL 2018: Refreshed Shane Warne leaves Melbourne; set to join Royals

His presence in the change room will surely boost the confidence of the team.

Rajashtan Royals have fared decently so far in their comeback season under their new skipper Ajinkya Rahane with 3 wins after six matches. They are currently at the fifth position in the points table and need to play some impressive cricket in order to qualify for the playoffs. Meanwhile, they are set to get a huge boost as their mentor Shane Warne is set to join the squad ahead of their next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The former Australian cricketer is excited to join the team after enjoying the vacation in Melbourne.

There has been a huge let-off in the intensity from the Royals ever since Warne has left the team. Though it could only be the coincidence as they didn’t play their best cricket in the last few games. It was only in the last game against Mumbai Indians (MI) they looked like a team to beat courtesy brilliant bowling from Jofra Archer on his IPL debut. Currently, they are enjoying a seven-day break and the return of Warne will only make things easier for their captain Ajinkya Rahane.

Warne gives an update

Shane Warne himself posted an update on social media website Instagram about him leaving Melbourne where he went for his vacation a few days ago. He was refreshed after spending some time in the wonderful weather in his favourite city and was excited to join to his team. “Time to leave beautiful Melbourne & the stunning weather & head back to the boys in the #IPL ! Pumped to be back as team mentor for the @rajasthanroyals ! Big week coming up,” he captioned the image.

Warne will be eager to turn around the season for Royals now and would want them to play their best cricket going forward in the tournament. It is also important for them to take one game at a time and don’t take much pressure on themselves.
