IPL 2018: Shakib-Al-Hasan terms one SRH player as a 'big-plus' of the franchise

Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently in the driver’s seat after winning two in two games and topping the points table of the ongoing IPL season. The SRH all-rounder Shakib did his part for the franchise in those two games, but the x-factor of the side is Rashid Khan, whose wrist spin is tough to tackle for the opposition.

Talking about the wrist spinners, the Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib felt that they have an added advantage and that is spinning the ball on any wicket. Right from Yuzvendra Chahal to the IPL new-comer Mayank Markande, all the wrist spinners troubled the batsmen.

“Not everyone is used to playing against wrist spinners, so batsmen are finding it difficult to negotiate. They (leg-spinners) can turn the ball on any type of wicket, so it’s an advantage for them,” said Shakib as quoted by the Indian Express.

Shakib further praised the franchise’s best spinner Rashid Khan and termed as a ‘big-plus’ to have in his team and he wants Rashid to win more games for the SRH side in this season, “It’s a good combination going on. He is doing well for the team for a long time. It is indeed a big plus to have a bowler like Rashid on our team. Hopefully, he will win more matches for us,” he added.

Set to play against his former IPL team

Shakib-Al-Hasan was a part of two-time IPL champion Kolkata Knight Riders till 2017 season. SRH will take on the KKR franchise on Saturday evening and it will be a strange feeling for Shakib to play against his ex-IPL side, “We won the title twice there. Of course, I’ve some great memories attached with KKR in the seven-year association. But Orange is my color now,” Shakib said.

After losing the last game, KKR will aim to rattle the Kane Williamson-led side at the Eden Gardens.
