IPL 2018: Shane Warne impressed with Rashid Khan and his spin bowling

The spinners have always played a key role in the subcontinent. The ball does not offer much help to the seam bowlers while the spinners are able to extra a good amount of turn in Indian pitches. The Indian batsmen are known to be good players of spin while the foreign batsmen usually struggle against the slow bowlers. But interestingly this time around in the IPL even Indian players have had their fair share of struggles against the spin bowlers.

Wrist spinners have become very key players in their respective teams. They have gained importance lately as such players have the ability to pick wickets even on pitches that do not have much on offer for them. Fans got to witness several wrist spinners at the Indian Premier League and they have done quite well this season. Shane Warne, the legendary leg-spinner is highly impressed with Rashid Khan and his ability to deliver in high-pressure situations.

High-intensity performances

Warne was amazed at Rashid’s talent to deceive batsmen with his variations. Though he loves to watch different leg spinners bowl, he feels that Rashid Khan is the best of the lot. Warne tweeted: “As a leg spinner I love seeing all the different types of leg spinners playing in the #IPL but watching @rashidkhan_19 bowl in these big games makes me proud as he loves this stage & pressure it also gets me excited!”

The young Afghani leggie delivered yet again for SRH in Qualifier 2 against KKR. His contribution with the bat also played a key role in his side overpowering the Knight Riders.

Rashid has certainly become a big game player as has already foxed some big fishes like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. He is one of the most sought after T20 bowlers in the world. Another top performance by him in the current season might take SRH to their second IPL title.
