The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is almost done. Three teams Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are vying for the elusive title. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost to the Capitals in a humdinger of a game in Vizag and were crashed out. The final of the tournament is set to be played on Sunday in Hyderabad.

Talking about the current IPL season, most of the matches have gone down the wire as there have been a lot of last-over finishes. With each and every team looking to win the all-important title the competition has been very tough and there have been a few tense moments here and there. Amidst all that, there were a few rib-tickling moments as well in the season which have caught the eyes of the fans all over the world.

Every IPL season has a new story to tell. This season also apart from boundaries and sixes, demolishing stumps, fielders flying all over the place has had a share of lighter moments on the field.

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/virat-kohli-is-the-best-ever-believes-andrew-flintoff/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Virat Kohli</strong></a> lost the toss for the ninth time in the team&#8217;s 12th match of the season. At the toss, when presenter Anjum Chopra was talking to the Delhi Capitals Captain Shreyas Iyer, Kohli was seen gesturing nine with his fingers towards the RCB camp, indicating the number of tosses he had lost. He also pumped his fist with a smile as RCB had gone on to win the last three matches despite losing the toss.

It was a must-win encounter for RCB to have any hopes of entering into the playoffs. But they fell short of the target by 16 runs after a brilliant half-century by Shreyas Iyer. RCB, along with Rajasthan Royals, stayed in the bottom half of the points table throughout the season.

2. Umpire forgetting that the ball was in his pocket

It seems that the umpiring howlers are refusing to come to an end this season. This time it was the Indian Umpire C Shamshuddin who was under the spotlight in the match involving the hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab. Resuming the game after the second strategic break, Kings XI Skipper Ravi Ashwin and pacer Ankit Rajpoot could not find the ball even as <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2019-rcb-was-just-one-victory-away-from-playoffs-says-ab-de-villiers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>AB De Villiers</strong></a> and Marcus Stoinis were ready to get underway. Ashwin went straight to Shamshuddin who was clueless about the situation.

The play was halted for some time as the Second Umpire Bruce Oxenford also joined in and the Fourth Umpire rushed onto the field with a new box of balls. After a few minutes, it was found in the television replays that Shamshuddin had kept the ball in his pocket just before the players headed for the break.

It was quite a funny moment especially for the players and the confusion left ABD in splits. What followed was an onslaught from him as he smashed 82 runs in just 44 balls as RCB eventually won the game.

It seems that the “Universal Boss” is eyeing a Football career after he retires from cricket. It was hilarious to see Chris trying to stop the ball with his foot, only to help it over the boundary. Although it was not intentional from him, it was a rib-tickling moment for everyone. Gayle who was standing at a short third man position was chasing a ball that went over his head but just when he was about to bend, his foot touched the ball and the ball went over the boundary.

Ravichandran Ashwin was responsible in dividing the cricket experts and fans alike after ‘Mankading’ Rajasthan Royals star <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/england-batsman-jos-buttler-becomes-father-of-a-baby-girl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Jos Buttler</strong></a> earlier this season. His stand on the debate was clear when he threatened to ‘Mankad’ Shikhar Dhawan during the encounter between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab at Feroz Shah Kotla. The southpaw was well inside the crease when Ashwin abruptly stopped in his run-up tried mankading the left-hander

The Delhi Capitals opener fondly called as “Gabbar” bent down on one knee displaying his annoyance against the incident. A visibly annoyed Dhawan then mocked Ashwin as he ran up to deliver the next ball by performing a bizarre dance move which left the fans in the stadium and commentators on air at that time absolutely into splits.

<p>It seems that the umpiring howlers are refusing to come to an end this season. This time it was the Indian Umpire C Shamshuddin who was under the spotlight in the match involving the hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab. Resuming the game after the second strategic break, Kings XI Skipper Ravi Ashwin and pacer Ankit Rajpoot could not find the ball even as <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2019-rcb-was-just-one-victory-away-from-playoffs-says-ab-de-villiers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>AB De Villiers</strong></a> and Marcus Stoinis were ready to get underway. Ashwin went straight to Shamshuddin who was clueless about the situation.</p>
<p>The play was halted for some time as the Second Umpire Bruce Oxenford also joined in and the Fourth Umpire rushed onto the field with a new box of balls. After a few minutes, it was found in the television replays that Shamshuddin had kept the ball in his pocket just before the players headed for the break.</p>
<p>It was quite a funny moment especially for the players and the confusion left ABD in splits. What followed was an onslaught from him as he smashed 82 runs in just 44 balls as RCB eventually won the game.</p>

<p>It seems that the “Universal Boss” is eyeing a Football career after he retires from cricket. It was hilarious to see Chris trying to stop the ball with his foot, only to help it over the boundary. Although it was not intentional from him, it was a rib-tickling moment for everyone. Gayle who was standing at a short third man position was chasing a ball that went over his head but just when he was about to bend, his foot touched the ball and the ball went over the boundary.</p>
<p>Earlier in the day, Sunrisers Hyderabad set up a mammoth target of 213 for Kings XI Punjab courtesy brilliant innings of 81 off just 56 balls by Hyderabad Skipper <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/mark-waugh-wants-david-warner-to-open-for-australia-in-the-world-cup/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>David Warner</strong></a>. In reply, there were a lot of expectations from Chris Gayle but he was dismissed only for 4 runs. Punjab only managed to score 167 runs with a blistering knock of 79 coming from the blade of KL Rahul.</p>

<p>One cannot ignore the Caribbean flavour in all editions of Indian Premier League. Be it Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2019-andre-russell-was-probably-angry-with-me-says-quinton-de-kock/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Andre Russell</strong></a> or Chris Gayle, everyone has played a major role for their respective franchises. They have also created a fan following of their own just for their entertainment skills.</p>
<p>One such funny moment came in the encounter between Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad. While fielding during the first innings, the Windies explosive batsman playing for Punjab decided to have some fun as he started chasing the spider cam. While doing so, he made some funny faces as well which was quite entertaining for one and all. Later in the day, he also unintentionally kicked the ball over the boundary as well. It was not a good day for him with the bat as he was dismissed only for four runs.</p>

<p>Ravichandran Ashwin was responsible in dividing the cricket experts and fans alike after ‘Mankading’ Rajasthan Royals star <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/england-batsman-jos-buttler-becomes-father-of-a-baby-girl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Jos Buttler</strong></a> earlier this season. His stand on the debate was clear when he threatened to ‘Mankad’ Shikhar Dhawan during the encounter between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab at Feroz Shah Kotla. The southpaw was well inside the crease when Ashwin abruptly stopped in his run-up tried mankading the left-hander</p>
<p>The Delhi Capitals opener fondly called as “Gabbar” bent down on one knee displaying his annoyance against the incident. A visibly annoyed Dhawan then mocked Ashwin as he ran up to deliver the next ball by performing a bizarre dance move which left the fans in the stadium and commentators on air at that time absolutely into splits.</p>
<p>Apart from that Shikhar played a major role in Delhi’s win over Punjab by 5 wickets when he scored an unbeaten 58 from 49 balls. Earlier in the day Punjab had scored 163 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs courtesy a Gayle storm when he scored 69 off just 37 balls.</p>
