IPL 2019: Ajinkya Rahane gets trolled for posting a training picture

The Royals will play their first match of the season against the KXIP on March 25.

The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will kick off on March 23. The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face-off in the season opener at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. Almost all the players have joined their respective franchises and the training has begun as the eight teams fight for the ultimate glory.

Ajinkya Rahane too, after missing the Super League phase of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Mumbai, is with the Rajasthan Royals now. They had qualified for the playoffs last year but lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the eliminator. In a bid to claim the trophy for the second time, the team is training hard ahead of the season.

Excited to get going in the tournament, Ajinkya Rahane posted one of his pictures while training hard at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. He urged his fans and followers to caption the picture in order to interact with them. But the cricketer ended up getting trolled eventually.

Rahane looking to lead from the front

Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane will be looking lead from the front this time around as well much like the last year. His inspired leadership and exceptional batting helped the team reach the top four dramatically be defeating the RCB in the must-win game. Despite, the loss at the hands of KKR, many were impressed the way the team showed character in their comeback year.

Rahane himself was brilliant with the willow amassing 370 runs in 15 outings for the team and he will be keen on repeating the heroics. Having said that, the Royals skipper is often guilty of getting bogged down and Rahane will be determined in improving in that aspect.

Meanwhile, the social media was filled with the trolls over Rahane’s pictures which featured the cricketer training with utmost concentration.
