As if the two defeats weren’t enough for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Sunrisers Hyderabad thumped them by a huge margin. The new pair of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner batted the visiting team out of the game by scoring hundreds. Chasing SRH’s total of 232/2, the Bangalore franchise were six down for just 35 by 8th over. They were eventually bowled out for 113 in 19.5 overs, one run less than what Bairstow scored.

Here are the lesser known stats from Sunrisers Hyderabad’s biggest win in terms of runs in the IPL:

The lucky charm of Sunrisers:

With a lot of variety available for filling up the overseas spots in the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad, the Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi doesn’t get many chances to exhibit his skills. Despite being part of the SRH squad since 2017 season, Nabi featured in only six matches thus far.

Nabi played three matches in 2017 which came down to two in 2018. His first game of 2019 season came against RCB where he picked up a 4-wicket haul. Interestingly, the Sunrisers won all the six matches when Nabi was in the playing XI and can be considered as their lucky charm.

A rare 21st century born:

Prayas Roy Barman, at the age of 16 years and 157 days, not only became the youngest player to feature in an IPL match. He is also only the 2nd player and the first Indian to take part in the IPL who was born in the 21st century. The Afghanistan off-spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman became the first when he made his IPL debut in the 2018 season while playing for the Kings XI Punjab.

The man of big partnerships:

David Warner has been part of all the nine-century partnerships of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. Overall, he was involved in many as ten century opening partnerships in the IPL including one for the Delhi Daredevils. Thus, he became the first player to be part of ten 100-run partnerships for the first wicket in the IPL.

He pushed Chris Gayle behind who was involved in nine such partnerships in the league. However, for any wicket, both Gayle and Warner have been a part of 18 different century partnerships in the league. No other player featured in more than 16-century partnerships thus far in the history of this league.

A milestone for the umpire:

Sundaram Ravi had a tough time during the previous RCB game where he failed to call a no-ball on the last ball of the game where the RCB needed seven needed against MI. However, that didn’t stop the Indian umpire to create a record in RCB’s game against the Sunrisers. By standing in the game played at the RGI Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, S Ravi became the first umpire in the history of the IPL to officiate 100 matches as the on-field umpire.
