The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made a marvellous comeback in the tournament after the initial jolt against the KKR. They chased down nearly 200 against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) while they defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by a mammoth 118-run margin in their last game. The next five days, though, are going to be quite hectic for the Sunrisers.

They play three games during this period, one at home and two away. The first of these games will be played against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Delhi. For the visitors, there is still ambiguity over the fitness of their captain Kane Williamson. If he is deemed to be fit, they will have a lot to ponder over. But, do they have to make a change to their existing eleven in the first place?

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):

Openers (Jonny Bairstow (wk), David Warner)

Jonny Bairstow and David Warner have been the most prolific opening pair of this IPL. Just three games into the tournament and they have broken several records already. Both of them scored centuries in the match against RCB. This is only the second time that two batsmen scored centuries in the same innings.

Furthermore, they have three consecutive hundred partnerships now and also have the record for the highest opening partnership in the IPL. This duo has got to be one of the fastest runners between the wickets and rotates the strike quite often. SRH will want them to play the same aggressive brand of cricket when they take the field on Thursday at the Kotla.

Middle Order (Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan)

The SRH middle-order hasn’t been exposed as yet as the openers are giving the team consistent starts. Players like Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan are to be tested to their full potential. The Hyderabad team’s batsmen are quite flexible with their batting positions. Deepak Hooda and Yusuf Pathan are the floaters in the line-up and can be used according to the situations of the game.

Yusuf Pathan facilitated the process of Warner getting to his century in the last game. So, his finishing abilities are to be determined. Manish Pandey also hasn’t got many opportunities. The Karnataka batsman has batted at number five for his team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Even in the IPL, he could play in the same position or bat at number four depending upon the situation.

All Rounders (Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan)

Vijay Shankar seems to be the preferred choice for SRH at number three in the absence of Kane Williamson. The Tamil Nadu cricketer has done really well with the bat thus far and also bowled well in the last game. He will get more confident with his bowling as he bowls more overs. With Mohammad Nabi coming in, the Sunrisers Hyderabad seems to have a good amount of depth in their batting.

He adds a great balance to the side and returned with a four-wicket haul in the last game. With a lot of left-handers in the opposition, he’d like to repeat the same kind of heroics and make the team selection tough for the management. Rashid Khan will continue in the eleven. If he could pick a few more wickets in the next match, SRH will be in a great position.

Bowlers (Bhuvneshwar Kumar (c), Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma)

The pace troika of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, and Sandeep Sharma will continue to feature in the eleven. Bhuvi has been one of the biggest upsets of this season thus far. With the World Cup just around, all the Indian fans, irrespective of which franchise they support, will want to see him back at his best. He could continue to lead the side.

Siddarth Kaul also hasn’t been able to pick many wickets this year. He is just one good performance away from being back at his best and will hope to do well against Delhi. Sandeep Sharma was great in the last game with three wickets and there are no questions of replacing him at the moment.
